Job Description

International University is seeking Lecturers for Department of English.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach General English, Academic English, and Test Preparation courses (TOEFL iBT/IELTS) to undergraduate students
  • Teach undergraduate courses to English linguistics students
  • Plan student-centered lessons according to designated syllabus
  • Prepare supplementary materials and contribute to course design and development
  • Design, proctor and mark tests, assignments, examinations and projects
  • Participate in professional development activities
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the English Department
Requirements

Job requirements:

- For PhDs: 

  • Graduating from a prestigious PhD program in an English-speaking country
  • Owning a PhD degree or a doctorate in one of the following areas: TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, American Studies, Comparative Literature. 
  • If the degree is not related to TESOL or Applied Linguistics, candidates must have a master’s degree in TESOL or Applied Linguistics and relevant teaching experience
  • Having experience in research and university teaching.
  • Adaptable, flexible and cultural sensitive demonstration

- For MAs: 

  • Graduating from a prestigious master’s program in an English-speaking country
  • Owning a master’s degree in one of the following areas: TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Translation & Interpreting, Education (with an emphasis on TESOL/ESL)
  • Having experience in research and university teaching.
  • Research experience preferred.
  • Adaptable, flexible and cultural sensitive demonstration

Skills

  • English:: Fluent in teaching specialized subjects in English.
  • Computer: Familiar with tool kit such as blackboard, e-learning, etc.

Experience: 

  • Experience in teaching English courses is a plus.

  • Experience with the private sector and/or international organizations.
