Course Structure: The Intensive English course runs for 7-8 weeks on a schedule of Monday-Friday morning and afternoon sessions at both our City Center and Thu Duc Campuses. There are typically 5 semesters throughout the academic year, and offers of teaching hours will be based on enrollments for each semester.
Job Description Position Summary: This role supports our freshmen students in their English language development so that they can successfully study their degree program which is delivered in English at International University HCMC. The role includes all aspects of teaching including preparation, class delivery, feedback and marking. In addition, the English Teacher will also monitor student progress using different methods, such as both formal and informal assessment. Key Job Responsibilities: - Teach the UWE-IU Intensive English course to a high standard as scheduled through the following:
- Planning and delivering student-focused, engaging and effective lessons focused on both IELTS-preparation and EAP activities
- Assigning and marking of homework assignments
- Developing the study-skills of the students using a variety of methods
- Using and adapting the curriculum materials to fit the needs of the learners
- Providing feedback to students on a regular basis
- Implementing appropriate educational technologies in class to support student learning
- Completing informal and formal student assessments
- Take part in professional development opportunities
- Attend meetings as requested
- Complete course admin timely and according to set guidelines
- Contribute to the development of the curriculum by providing feedback to management regarding teaching materials and testing
- Collaborate with staff and managers to support students’ academic needs and office operations
